Energy classification and the VDI 4707 standard

The VDI 4707 standard is a specific lift standard based on the energy classification of domestic appliances and developed by an independent association of German engineers.

The standard specifies 7 classes of consumption from A to G for lift energy performance, with A being the most efficient.

Evaluation is carried out by an independent organisation and two key data are used to determine class: the energy used during a specific ride and the energy required in stand-by mode. Final classification depends on building type, travel, frequency of use and loading capacity.

HQE certification

The aim here is to reduce the environmental impact of the building, taking all the phases in its life cycle into consideration, from construction to demolition.

With the aim of involving all the participants in a building's construction, HQE certification comprises 14 objectives that specify a building's environmental quality. The objectives are distributed across 4 families: eco-construction, eco-management, comfort and health.
